Synchronized skating showcased at Prairie Regionals

Members of Summit Synchro, representing the Stony Mountain Figure Skating Club, competed in the STAR 8 Synchro Free Program at the 2026 Prairie Regional Synchronized Skating Championships at the Meridian Exhibition Centre – Icon Arena in Winkler on Jan. 31. Hosted by Skate Manitoba and the Winkler Skating Club, the category featured four teams. Summit Synchro placed second with a score of 53.59, finishing behind Pembina Pizazz of the Morden Figure Skating Club, with Blades United of Neepawa third and Shattered Ice of Saskatoon fourth. Synchronized skating is a team discipline of figure skating that emphasizes timing, formations, speed and precision. Summit Synchro skaters: Kyaira Zagrodink (Stonewall), Olivia Wirgau (Stony Mountain), Lexie King (Lac du Bonnet), Leah Bond (Cooks Creek), Gaia Turner (Stonewall), Lacey Learning (Stonewall), Dani Park (Stony Mountain), Havana Rademaker (Winnipeg), Danica Breul (Stony Mountain) and Kate Bonds (Cooks Creek).
